Under the Pyramids: Inside the Giza Cave Network | Ancient Architects
In this video, I'm taking a look at the Tomb of the Birds, Tomb NC2 on the western margins of the Giza Plateau, which from the outside looks like a somewhat regular Ancient Egyptian rock-cut tomb structure, but inside it hides a secret - the entrance into Giza’s underground labyrinth of tunnels.
I’ll be giving you the historical background regarding this subterranean world, and then, thanks to some exclusive footage from Geoffrey Drumm of the 'Land of Chem' UA-cam channel, you’ll get to take a look inside.
A special thank you to Geoffrey for providing me with footage. Please subscribe to his channel at: ua-cam.com/channels/ULur_fLEBk7bNj6LZaMZ8w.html

The Final Evolution of the Pyramids: From Man-Made Marvels to Natural Wonders
Переглядів 41 тис.День тому
The symbolism in Ancient Egyptian culture was complicated, but the pyramid shape certainly has a deep and important meaning, related to the Primordial Mound, the Heliopolis Benben Stone, the Bennu bird, the creator god, the sun god and the god of rebirth and regeneration. It’s therefore no surprise that it was a custom in the Old Kingdom for a king to build his own pyramid, royal construction p...

A large, circular 4,000-year-old stone building has been discovered on a Cretan hilltop, an amazing and unexpected find that looks to disrupt a major airport project on the Greek island. It belongs to the powerful Minoan civilisation. From above the new discovery looks like a large wheel. It’s a labyrinthine building covering an area of 1,800-square-metres or 19,000-square-feet. The last royal pyramid to be built in Egypt was that of Ahmose I, the founder of the New Kingdom, first king of the famous and powerful 18th Dynasty. But recently, in my research, I came across something I had never heard of before. It’s known as the Abydos Stela of Tuthmose I. It was found in excavations at the Great Temple of Osiris in the Kom el Sultan region of Abydos. It is a memorial ston...

I’m sorry my friend, but just droning on about the “things they found” at this site isn’t enough. It wouldn’t have been too much of an issue to give this enigmatic Venus figurines a couple more minutes. Especially since you showed the fragment of one that stands out from the rest. One of the figurines appears to be in a state of advanced pregnancy, her hands are placed in front of her abdomen and a coil-like rope is bound around both wrists. What was this rope representing? Was she held captive? What about the other Venus found at Kostenki who had the name thick, coiled rope tied around both breasts and wrapped around the back of her upper body? These details bring this site to life, these are memorable details that people will remember…or even create enough interest to research on their own. Most ancient and/or prehistoric enthusiasts (your viewership) thrive on these little details, they make us want to know more. A rather dull inventory of a site, even as enigmatic as Kostenki, have zero entertainment factor.

I've enjoyed your channel til now even if it has pushed certain views which I disagree with. But I would love to know why Giza Labyrinth pops up in text at the beginning of this video and then you proceed to show and talk about natural cave systems. I really encourage people to do a quick search on the enigma that the Labyrinth actually is written by ancient historians who actually saw it. There was nothing natural about it and it's grandeur rivaled even that of the great pyramids.

Vitrified stoneware pottery is wood fired to 1310 degrees, or "cone 10" in the jargon. That is the tempersture required for most the classic glazes, including ash glaze where the ash is either spplied as a slurry or simply "fly ash" the ash from the fire blowing through the kiln. Bringing an enclosed fire to this temperature is tough work. Bringing an open fire yo such a temperature is even harder as the heat is dispersed in all directions. A ready supply of firewood is essential. I see no readon to assume thst whole walls would be fired at once. Nubs may indicate positioning of supports for progressive smaller fires.

  • @seabeepirate

How probable is it that the cave had water running through it when the monuments were built?

  • @jeremyashford2145
    @jeremyashford2145 День тому

The "nubs" are a problem, but that could make them a key to the construction process. To create such a protuberance by carving rock requires a huge amount of additional effort. There are easier ways to create a support for timber framing or hand holds for climbing. The same shape made as a hollow (inverted) is a fraction of the work. So if the protuberances are not carved why would we assume anything else is? One other thing is obvious in the pictures here and that is rarely mentioned. I see delamination of the surface. This suggests that the blocks are not homogenous. Some limestone does delaminate near the cut surface as exposure to air hardens the surface and creates a discontinuity but delamination is usually a result of attempts to clean the blackened surface. Conservationists in New Zealand have ceased attempting to clean the surfaces of Oamaru stone (a local limestone) walls built in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. But we are talking a different stone and a completely different timescale here.

From Google: Caves are natural; tunnels are man-made (or animal or insect made - that is, they are constructed, and not 'formed'). Caves are irregular in shape, have large caverns and narrow passages; a tunnel is more typically roughly the same diameter throughout.

Lovely Matt: Is it G. Hancock who writes about the 'Duat' Mythology/Hypothesis ie. 'As Above, so Below?' where we imagine the Egyptians 'Questing Out' the Giza Plateau, due to it's proximity to the Nile (with its Duat similarity to the Milky Way?)... - I've a feeling you've said you don't Subscribe to this notion - but it's interesting to imagine this natural cave system *also* forming part of this Quest, again with its Duat similarity to the River (Styx?) of mythology... Fascinating stuff mate, and thanks as ever for putting this together... Bobby 🙏🏻 Ps. Did Andrew Collins do 300+ metres on his own? It seems like the whole Giza Plateau feels artificial, its somewhat overlooked that at one point the entire area was covered in 3 foot thick basalt polygonal masonry and the ancient saying of 'As Above So Below' has more meaning then just words and not necessarily meaning stars and Earth. Could it not just as easily be ground and underground. The Osirus shaft is amazing and they now know where the Maze of Hawara is via GPR. I believe there is so much more that is known and not shared or simply just not found yet. The Egyptians have a history like no other culture as their story starts with "we are a legacy civilisation of a much grander Culture", maybe why the early Pharaoh's made journeys/pilgrimage to the Sahara but were they trying to find something or looking for something. To go to the trouble and expense of building water stations all the way from Memphis to the Sahara, its quite the journey. The only thing i hope is when we get a 'new' set of people in charge of Egyptian archaeology they are a little more open minded and less aggressive about dating things, there is no shame in saying "we can confirm the first part of the Kings list but cannot at this stage confirm anything further". Instead of the first part is correct, the rest they made up - just how do they know that? The simple answer is they don't. Iv'e just published a book titled 'The 4th Age of Man' which talks a lot about prehistory and how cataclysms could not only break a civilisation but separate the survivors into smaller groups with less knowledge. Only Oral Traditions continue of what was, the flood for instance is a story over 400 cultures have stories about. A lost advanced civilisation is another Worldwide oral tradition and i believe its these traditions that are window on prehistory as we know the written word has been changed for religious, propergander, financial, legitimising a usurper and the list goes on where oral traditions are harder to change as we would have heard them from childhood to adulthood and the lessons of campfire stories is the same as our internet, information.

Less than 1000 years ago, you'd be put to death if you openly preached the heliocentric model. Legit scientists used to think the structure of heaven was an actual part of our cosmos and factored it into the mathematics and physics of the solar system. So go figure. We're most likely going to find out that we actually were civilized far sooner than we believed AS WELL AS a few more points in the technology section and understand that human hands just simply cannot do this otherworldly, near laser like perfect cuts in granite. Granite cutting technology is HORRIBLE today. We'd need some serious Industrial machinery to replicate Egyptian granite. Something that eludes most of the brains on this planet. Why? Idk it's this odd, dogmatic like relationship. Idk why everyone would get so upset if we are older in antiquity? That'd be badass

I dint understand how you can claim him to be wrong. We can't date stone. What evidence do you have Suggesting it's origin date? You cannot use organic materials to accurately date the point at which these structures were built. If the world ended right now, in 3000 years from now, people would stumble upon what once was NYC and date the organic material that they find. 2024.now think about allllllllll of the history they are forgetting about and so closely and dangerously wiped an ancient civilization from the record. NOT COOL. You cannot date stone. What if this site remained empty for 4,000 years? All speculation and assumption. Not wise to call someone wrong when it itself has yet to be fully understood.

Very odd texture on the surface of the limestone within the caves. My guess is it's efflorescence mineralization and not precipitated.
